Accra hosts the training for the second cohort of the COYWA programme
The training programme for the second cohort of the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) programme began on Monday 26 October in Accra, Ghana. Organised by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), in collaboration with the ECOWAS Centre for Youth and Sports Development (CDJS) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), this session will run until 30 October 2026.
The training aims to strengthen the digital and financial skills of young entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs in West Africa, in order to better equip them to develop their entrepreneurial initiatives and seize the opportunities offered by the digital transformation.
In an environment characterised by the rapid growth of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), mastery of these tools is a major asset for innovation, competitiveness and business growth. However, using them also requires critical thinking, a sound understanding of their potential and limitations, and the ability to use them responsibly and in a way that is tailored to the needs of entrepreneurial projects.
Through this initiative, the COYWA programme at the Centre for Youth Development reaffirms its commitment to the economic empowerment of young people and women, by contributing to the development of their skills and the creation of opportunities that foster entrepreneurship in West Africa.
